The Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organisation for people aged from 13 to 20 years. It has almost 35,000 members nationwide, making it the worlds largest youth air training organisation. The ATC receives support from the Royal Air Force, allowing it to provide fantastic opportunities to it's members.

The aims of the Air Training Corps are:

  • To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
  • To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
  • To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

The ATC Motto is: 'Venture Adventure'.

Activities offered by the ATC include flying, gliding, target shooting, adventure training, sports and annual camps. The ATC is also the largest operator of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme - another worthwhile and rewarding challenge for young people. As well as all of these activities, the ATC offers young people the opportunity to develop into mature, disciplined, highly employable men and women with strong leadership skills.

Further information on the Air Training Corps can be found at the official Air Cadet Organisation web site: www.aircadets.org.

The ATC is not only looking to recruit young people as Cadets, we are also looking for suitable volunteers aged 20 or over to become adult staff. For further information about becoming an adult volunteer please click here or telephone Central and East Yorkshire Wing HQ on 01347 847463.
